Dear Zazie, Here is today’s Lovers’ Chronicle from Mac Tag dedicated to his muse. Follow us on twitter @cowboycoleridge. Have you heard that sigh? Comin’ from yourself? Have you told? Rhett
The Lovers’ Chronicle
Dear Muse,
dream told…
*falling asleep, up close to the ravishing redhead*
need to think about the phrase of the day, untold,
see if any worthy verse will float to the top…
a song comin’ on, good always helpful,
i think i got it;
‘’Change
Nothin’ stays the same
Untold
Yeah, you hit the ground runnin’…’’
wait what, that is not how that song goes
Well it makes about as much sense
with untold as unchained, as it was written
by David Lee Roth for Van Halen, besides
I do not think there are any untold songs;
i cannot think of one
Let’s talk about today’s theme,
you have never held back in your writing
so haven’t you told everything already;
no not yet, still have a few stories left
and the style changes every year,
plus there is the future unfoldin’ ahead;
I have noticed that, anything you want to tell tonight…
Baby wake up, who are you talking to, says the redhead
oh, what, oh i was talkin’ to the dream goddess
I thought so, did you get something to write about, she asks
yes i did, tonight it was a reminder that while i have written
many poems about the tales that have led here,
there are more to come as our journey continues
and there are some worth retellin’, like this one,
have i told you lately i am still amazed when i look at you

now we can begin to tell
“The rest of the story”
we both had different stories
that were fixin’ to unfold
before we met
“Right, I bet they would have been good”
our jobs, family and friends
were fulfillin’ but the final
piece was definitely missin’
“Well let’s get busy”
we have the last chapters
to write together

a tale of intimate conversations, the early ones were in person, guarded, limited, i remember the faces, not the details, but i know i had the emotional depth of a fence post back then; the ones in writin’ that came much later unleashed a torrent of pent up feelin’s, a once ago muse expressed surprise that i was so open in what i wrote, i told her i did not why, gave her the credit, maybe because there was so much untold that needed tellin’

together…
well, was gonna say
at last, but that feels
too easy, and yet
not enough
y’all have no idea
what it took
to get here
to feel like this
so on this first night,
a new beginnin’,
cannot imagine
another other way
and now that the tale
can be told, lookin’
forward to what awaits

Pale Love, Pale Rider
the longer i am here,
the more satisfyin’
it becomes
and i find myself
more comfortable
i revel in the clarity
it is touchin’ here,
with delicacy of lines
and verse all around,
and feelin’s never felt
envelopin’ us
do we dare say out loud,
can it now be told,
that we would like to stay

tellin’ it as it happens
the real purpose here
a connection brief then
apparently lost
not surprised
another for the now
more like it
these are the ones
geared for
remember,
the fallin’ part
is fabulous
but keep the rope tied off
so as not to fall too far

the shadows above
the bodies below
a song and the moan
of the late summer wind
how easily things went
the way not intended
a sigh untold
and there follows,
never the same
but feel not any woe
for the path chosen
it is merely fulfillment
of what was always
meant to be

your languishin’ attitude,
your hand, at each moment
gently touches mine,
confirm the suspicions
your look of dismay
awoke within me
do my charms,
such that they are,
speak to your imagination
an imagination which i suspect
is full of untold passion
i shall leave with the regret
that i understood you too late

“Would you mind if I ask you
a business question?”
Depends on the question
“It has to do with death”
Ah, a girl after
my own heart…
Sing all alone
Beware the pale rider
Sing all alone
For heartbreak follows after
Sing all alone
Trail of heartbreak
Wherever he rode
Sing all alone
Forewarned: sorrow
Follows close behind

beautiful, archin’ your marvellous curves
displayin’ the vision of your body
in my strength, our skin, ours, as with glory
shinin’, the sunlight on your hair
between waves, slip amorously
the great dreamin’, while time goes by

Fixin’ to leave on a roadtrip weekend! 500 miles today.
Lots of coffee
Music up loud
You on my mind
Ready to roll

Is it too much to ask, after the fall,
To find someone to be his all,
To where everything else is small?

Sigh Too Much
How easily things go wrong
A sigh too much
A sigh not enough
A sigh from the deepest well
A sigh for loneliness to end
A sigh from the emptiest part
A sigh that cannot be borne
A sigh untold

So Jett says Zazie received another picture text from Adele:

He says…
Seems her love interest told her she deserves more than he can give her now. Jett assures me that Adele is a remarkable woman; bold, bright and beautiful. No doubt she deserves the best of everything, so this guy could be sincere or he could be full of merda. That is a standard line used by players. Either way, I full well know the sting of love lost and we hope that Adele moves on and gives love another chance someday. Sadly, another example of how easily things go wrong.

Today is the birthday of Anton Mauve (Anthonij Rudolf Mauve; Zaandam, Netherlands 18 September 1838 – 5 February 1888 Arnhem, Netherlands); realist painter who was a leading member of the Hague School. He signed his paintings ‘A. Mauve’ or with a monogrammed ‘A.M.’. A master colorist, he was an early influence on his cousin-in-law Vincent van Gogh. Most of Mauve’s work depicts people and animals in outdoor settings. In his Morning Ride in the Rijksmuseum, for example, fashionable equestrians at the seacoast are seen riding away from the viewer. An unconventional detail, horse droppings in the foreground, attests his commitment to realism.
Mauve was married to van Gogh’s cousin Ariëtte (Jet) Sophia Jeannette Carbentus.

“The past is never where you think you left it.”

“Love must be learned, and learned again; there is no end to it.”
― Katherine Anne Porter
Love without marriage can sometimes be very awkward for all concerned; but marriage without love simply removes that institution from the territory of the humanly admissible, to my mind.
- Katherine Anne Porter
Love is a state in which one lives who loves, and whoever loves has given himself away; love then, and not marriage, is belonging.
- Katherine Anne Porter
